Luebeck is filled combatless by British troops.
1945-1948

Beginning of the reconstruction of the old part of town and the destroyed churches.

Introduction of the new urban constitution after the Schleswig Schleswig-Holsteini gemeindeordnung.

All towers of the destroyed churches are again structured.

Luebeck is chosen in the monument protection year as well as Regensburg and Bamberg to the pilot project of a careful town redevelopment. Afterwards intensive repair works, Luebeck becomes the reorganization emphasis of the Federal Republic.
1987
The reconstruction of the last Luebecker old part of town church - St. Petri - is concluded. The UNESCO explains as the world cultural heritage - the first cultural monument of this type in the Federal Republic to Luebeck.
